How Miniature Me uses your information

Miniature Me turns a photo you upload into a custom figurine. This notice explains what information we hold about you, why, who else receives it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Miniature Me is run by its owner as a sole trader, who is the controller of your personal data. Our business address is Unit 5, Aire St, Leeds, LS1 4HT, United Kingdom. For anything about your data, email hello@miniature-me.com.

What we collect and why

• Your email address and name. Your email address is how you sign in and how we recognise you, whether you use Google or an emailed link. Your name comes from Google if you sign in with Google; otherwise we make one from your email address. We need these to give you an Account.
• How you sign in. Which sign-in methods you have used, and when. We keep this so the same person always reaches the same Account.
• Your photos. The photo you upload, and the style and size you choose, so that we can make your figurine. You confirm you have permission to use the photo.
• Photos of children. You may upload a photo of a child only if you are their parent or guardian. When you tick the box to confirm this, we record that you did and when.
• Your projects and orders. Proof images and 3D model files prepared for you, your approvals, and the progress of each order, so that we make exactly what you approved.
• Preview requests. Each time you ask for an AI preview: when, for which project and style, whether it worked, and how much processing it used, so that we can keep the free previews affordable.
• Credits and daily previews. Your Credit balance, every change to it, and how many free previews you have used each day, so that we can apply the limits fairly.
• Cookies. A cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, a short-lived cookie used only while you sign in with Google, a cookie that remembers your answer to our cookie notice, and PostHog’s analytics cookies (see below).
• How you use the site. The pages you visit, what you click, and a recording of each visit that replays your screen, so that we can find and fix what gets in the way. Your photos are hidden from these recordings: wherever a photo appears, the recording shows an empty box instead, and whatever you type into a form is masked.

We use this information to provide the service you have asked for, which is the legal basis for holding it. Analytics is in our legitimate interest in running a site that works. We do not sell any of it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else receives your data

• Cloudflare runs the website and stores our database and your uploaded files.
• Google, for sign-in, if you choose “Continue with Google”. Google tells us your name and email address, and knows that you signed in to Miniature Me.
• Google Gemini, Google’s AI image service, makes your preview images, as our processor. When you ask for a preview, the photo you uploaded is sent to Google Gemini for generation, together with our written instructions for the style you chose, and Gemini sends back the generated image. We use Google’s paid Gemini service, under terms that do not let Google use your photo or the image to improve its products.
• PostHog, on its EU Cloud, is our analytics provider. It receives the pages you visit, what you click and the recordings described above, with your photos hidden. It does so from the moment you arrive, and our cookie notice tells you so.
• Resend is our email provider. It sends your sign-in links, so it receives your email address and the message we send.

The people who run Miniature Me can see Account details, such as email addresses and Credit balances, to operate the service.

Where your data is stored

Our database, your uploaded files and our analytics are stored in Europe. Cloudflare may handle each request at whichever of its locations is nearest to you. Google (including Google Gemini) and Resend are international companies and may handle the data they receive outside Europe, under their own safeguards.

How long we keep it

• Uploaded files are deleted thirty days after a Project is abandoned, meaning thirty days after its last activity if it has not been placed as an order. Its photo, proof images and 3D model files are all removed.
• A Project counts as a placed order once its approved design has been sent for production. Placed orders are kept, with their files, so that what you ordered can be made. A test order that has not yet been sent for production is not a placed order.
• Everything else is kept for as long as you have an Account.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself from My account. Deletion takes effect seven days later, and you are signed out everywhere straight away. If you change your mind, sign in again within those seven days and the deletion is cancelled. After seven days, your Account, all of your Projects and orders, and all of their files are permanently removed.

Downloading your data

You have the right to a copy of your data. You can download everything we hold about you, at any time, from My account.

Your other rights

You can ask us to correct your data, to delete it, or to stop using it, by emailing hello@miniature-me.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

This is a pilot

Miniature Me is in a private pilot. No payment is taken, orders are test orders, and no physical print is sent. Prices shown are examples.
